Multi-turn actuators

According to ISO 5210, the multi-turn actuator can absorb the thrust forces generated in the valve and more than one full revolution is required for the full stroke of the valve. In most applications, many more revolutions are required for full valve stroke, so the gate valves often have lifting spindles. Therefore, the output shaft of the multi-turn actuators of type SA(R) is made as a hollow shaft through which the threaded spindle is guided in such cases.
AUMA multi-turn actuators are used e.g. to automate gate valves or shut-off valves. They are the most versatile products within the AUMA family.

Class A: OPEN-CLOSED operation. An actuator is required to actuate the reinforcement throughout its stroke from the fully open position to the fully closed position or vice versa.
Class B: Positioning (inching). The actuator is required to periodically bring the reinforcement into any position (fully open, intermediate position and fully closed).
Class C: Regulatory or modulating operation. An actuator is required to move the reinforcement frequently to any position between fully open and fully closed.
Class D: Continuous control. An actuator is required to continuously move the reinforcement to any position between fully open and fully closed.
