Part-turn actuators

According to ISO 5211, a part-turn actuator is when a complete opening requires less than one full revolution at the inlet of the valve.
Part-turn reinforcements– flaps, butterfly or ball valves – are often designed not to have limiters for end positions, but to move. In order to still be accurately positioned in the end position during manual operation, the SQ(R) type part-turn actuators contain internal end stops.

Class A: OPEN-CLOSED operation. An actuator is required to actuate the reinforcement throughout its stroke from the fully open position to the fully closed position or vice versa.
Class B: Positioning (inching). The actuator is required to periodically bring the reinforcement into any position (fully open, intermediate position and fully closed).
Class C: Regulatory or modulating operation. An actuator is required to move the reinforcement frequently to any position between fully open and fully closed.
Class D: Continuous control. An actuator is required to continuously move the reinforcement to any position between fully open and fully closed.
