Enclosure Protection

AUMA actuators type SA and SQ are supplied in an increased degree of protection IP68 in accordance with EN 60529. IP68 means protection against continuous immersion up to 8 m of water height at max. 96 hours. Up to 10 operations are allowed during continuous immersion.

Typically, AUMA gearboxes are used in combination with AUMA multi-turn actuators. Gearboxes are also available in IP68 protection grade. Certain gearboxes are intended for special applications, e.g. buried installation for part-turn actuators or superior immersion levels. Corrosion protection

Effective AUMA corrosion protection is decisive for the high level of service life of the device. The AUMA corrosion protection system is based on chemical preliminary treatment, followed by a two-layer powder coating of the individual components (laminating). In accordance with the corrosive categories according to ISO 12944-2, different AUMA levels of corrosion protection are suitable for different applications. The standard colour is silver grey (similar to RAL 7037). Other colors are also available.

Certification is carried out in close cooperation with national and international certification bodies. AUMA holds various approvals for AUMA devices: ATEX (Europe), IEC (International level), FM (USA) and others for other countries.
