What do a fox and an electric actuator have in common?
A great deal, if it’s AUMA’s brand new PROFOX actuator. Like its namesake, PROFOX is not only cunning and adaptable, but also extremely durable. The fact that AUMA has more than 50 years of experience in the development and production of electric actuators has resulted in a series of high performance actuators, with exciting new features and an excellent cost/gain ratio. Aimed at applications requiring fast and precise positioning, ultimate flexibility and future-proof interfaces, the smart and compact PROFOX series is suitable for all sectors in the industry, including water treatment, combined heat and power plants, process industries and shipbuilding.
Crafty
Built-in intelligence makes PROFOX equally suitable for both simple open-closed and challenging modulation applications. Motor speed is adjustable, ensuring fast and accurate positioning without overheating. The “soft” start and “soft” stop functionality increases the life of the valve. Operating costs are low, thanks to high mechanical efficiency and low standby consumption. Innovative diagnostics ensures long-term availability and non-obsolescence of PROFOX actuators for IIoT applications.
Adjustable
AUMA PROFOX actuators work with gate valves, butterfly valves, ball valves and shut-off valves. There are multi-turn versions for moments of 10 – 100 Nm and multi-turn versions for 32 – 600 Nm. A linear actuator will soon follow. The modular design ensures flexible configuration, fast delivery and consistent operation. Integration to the management system is equally flexible; PROFOX actuators support the most common communication protocols and are well prepared for future evolutions. The compact design allows the PROFOX actuators to fit in confined spaces.
Durable
The PROFOX series is designed and built in Germany – and designed to last even in the toughest process conditions. The high-quality metal enclosure with IP67 protection IP67 (IP68 option) and the unique AUMA corrosion protection, which meets the highest C5-M/C5-I requirements according to EN ISO 12944-6, ensure the long-term life of the PROFOX actuator at temperatures from -30 °C to +70 °C.
PROFOX actuators are simple and easy to use. Installation and commissioning using integrated buttons or an intuitive app are quick and easy. The FOX-EYE light and position indicator on the housing clearly indicate the status of the actuator at any time, even from afar.
